We visited Ireland in August, 2006, and were privileged to use a self-catering cottage on the grounds of Birr Castle as our home base. The Birr Castle Demesne -- in addition to being a place of great importance in the history of Irish science and technology -- is exquisitely photogenic.  These 50 images give a little of the feel of the place; if you are looking specifically for images of the Great Telescope, they are near the end of this set.
