Summer, 2005, began with too many chicks. Our little flock of chickens was down to only two remaining, so we ordered more from a hatchery in Iowa. Due to a comedy of errors, we wound up with !fifty-eight! day-old chicks in early June. We managed to find good homes for all but the eleven we chose to keep, including ones who are now enriching the lives of Doli Bambhania and Bambi Moise of the DeAnza Math Department.
