The Bothy Cat.
When we arrived in the cottage, Rita (the Castle staff caretaker of the cottage) had left several handwritten notes concerning cottage operations -- including instructions to feed the cat on the kitchen window ledge every evening.
The cat stole our heart pretty quickly.  She was an outdoor cat (didn't want to come inside even when invited), but became very attached to us and would accompany us happily on our strolls around the Demesne grounds.
