Lord Rosse uses this old Cherokee -- the only one we saw in five weeks in Ireland, and very similar to Diane's cherished red '92  -- to drive around locally.  (I presume that they have something else – probably somethings else – for more formal travel.)  It is built with the steering wheel on the left, and was abandoned a few years ago by someone who left Birr in a big hurry to return to the Continent and never came back to pick it up.  Lord Rosse says its “gearbox” is deteriorating and he’ll probably have to get something else soon for day-to-day motoring.
