O’Brien’s tower, a traditional tourist vista point since the 1800’s, was closed to visitors when we were there.  If you look closely to the right of the tower in this picture, you can see the shovel of a backhoe – like the rest of the venue, the tower is undergoing extensive renovations and upgrades.  Actually, all of Ireland seems to be undergoing renovation and upgrade.
