Late evening twilight by the river in the Demesne.
This picture is a bit fuzzy because the light was much dimmer than it looks, and
the shutter speed was slow. It shows Diane and Lord Rosse on our second
encounter with him. He was pruning the bush he's facing here -- a "strawberry
bush" -- which he had planted next to the river to test an idea about the role
of reflected light from a body of water on the growth rate of that particular
bush. He and Diane hit it off on this interchange pretty quickly, and our
invitation to visit him and Lady Rosse in the castle came from this little
encounter, I think.
